Pitha Utshab at IUBAT

As a part of its cultural activities, local and international students and faculty of International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) jointly organized a Pitha Utshab to uphold the sublime Bengali heritage on January 21^st. This alluring Utshab took place at the university premise under the banner of one of the students club IUBAT GOLD. Prof Dr M Alimullah Miyan, Vice-Chancellor of IUBAT inaugurated the Utshab. IUBAT students Ismoth Ara, Mithila and Morsheda conducted the utshab while Imon, Nafis, Sumon, Musa and Sentu organized the same. The ceremonious and amicable utshab was full of Naksi, Kuli, Rash-Chitoi, Chitoi, Pathishapta, Golap, Khaj and the like pithas. Impulsive participation of IUBAT’s national and international students, alumni, faculty, staff along the community of IUBAT College of Tourism and Hospitality Management made the ceremony a grand success. The Utsab was made more enjoyable through addition of Bangla folk music.

Cultural Show at IUBAT

In the mid of the spring when the nature was ornamented by blooming flowers, IUBAT Lawn was waiting for a charming evening. The colorful and outstanding grand cultural program started at a bit later than five pm. The big conference centre trembled with the superb presentation of IUBAT song sung by a group of IUBATians Lemon, Prethu, Moon, Tazin, Musa, Rubel, Jonny, Rupom, Aditya and Novel. They continued to welcome the audience with welcoming song and international song “We shall overcome”. The audience stucked long four hours with songs, recitation and dance sequences. Time was passing slowly by participating both local and guest artists among was Rani, Hasan, Dalia, Tawfique, Manjura Rashid, Prof Aman Ullah, Tazirul Islam, Tanvir, Shafique Mamun, Jimmi, Sohel Imrose, Novel, Shushila, Babli and Sushma. Songs presented by alumni Sohel Imrose, Jimmi and Hasan and also by the guest performers like Rani, Bisweswar, Tazirul Islam, Shafique Mamun, Fatema Multani, Anita, Rasel Khan and Tashir enchanted the audience.

The program was dazzled by the superb dance performance by local and international students like Bimala, Sweta, Sushma, Babli, Sushila from Nepal and Sumona, Manjura, Dalia and Tawfique. The audience was amazed by the dance performed by Abu Horaira who danced with a nice song of famous singer Michel Jackson. Time to time the audience was overwhelmed by the presentation and encouraged the participants by vigorous clapping.

The program ended around 10 pm. The cultural programs are common events in IUBAT but this program was an outstanding memory of the moments because of Second Convocation of IUBAT. The program was managed nicely by A F M Samiul Alam Novel under the constant supervision of Prof Aman Ullah, Convenor of the Cultural Committee of the Convocation involving Mr A K M Ahsanul Haque, RN Shamsun Nahar, Mr Utpal Kanti Das, A F M Samiul Alam, Quazi Badrunnesa, and Bimala Rai. BBA student Raffaya Ghani, conducted the well attended cultural program as Master of the Ceremony.
