Once you arrive at Dhaka International Airport, someone will be there to greet you, although  before leaving the airport, it is advised to change cash. Around 2000 taka should do. When           travelling around, it is advised to carry at least 2000 taka with you.

Sim cards can be purchased out here, these are a necessity, as it will be your point of contact for all faculty and friends.

It is also important to carry around water with you at all times, as it can be deceivingly hot.
