Job Title : Course Instructor/ Full-time Position, College of Nursing (Assistant Professor rank)
Minimum Qualifications
>Combined training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing;
>Experience teaching medical-surgical nursing in classroom or clinical courses in a post-secondary nursing program, ideally using internationally recognized curriculum;
> Recent relevant experience in a clinical setting (within the last five years);
> Excellent ability to communicate and teach in English.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
> Master’s Degree in Nursing or related discipline;
> Ability to teach theory and clinical courses in a team-teaching, collegial relationship;
> Current knowledge of clinical practice issues and ability to teach in more than one clinical area;
> Previous experience in curriculum development, instructional delivery and program coordination based on international standards;
> Record of research, publication, other scholarly, creative and community activity.
Duties
> Develop and teach course content (classroom and laboratory courses) at the undergraduate level, including but not limited to midwifery and maternal-child nursing (practice, theories, and conceptual models), and skills lab (nursing procedures, practice in the hospital setting);
> Develop and deliver courses, develop clinical placements for students, select texts and supplies and other duties associated with the course-work;
> Participate in clinical placements, student recruitment, and advising;
> Position requires excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work closely with healthcare agencies, faculty and students.
> Excellent ability to communicate and teach in English.
