About IUBAT

  • The overall mission of IUBAT is human resources development through appropriate teaching, training and guidance as well as creation of knowledge conducive to socio-agro- economic development of developing societies in general and that of Bangladesh in particular. This overall mission is being attained through offering courses and curricula relating to various aspects of knowledge as well as providing opportunities for individuals to acquire skill and relevant experience in the chosen field of specialization. Besides, the University provides opportunities for promotion of scholasticism through research in different subject areas and application of knowledge in the context of Bangladesh.

Aim of this Conference

  • The aim of this conference is to arrange an intellectual discussion on the recent developments of quality of higher education. It is hope that the conference will serve as a meeting place for academics, thinkers, and experts from various disciplines to combine theoretical knowledge with practical experiences. It is expected that the conference will come up with some specific recommendations for improving higher education in Bangladesh.

Important Deadlines

  • a) Submission of Abstract : 15th December, 2011
    b) Submission of Full Paper : 1st January, 2012
    c) Notification of full Acceptance : 7th January, 2012
    d) Registration Deadline : 10th January, 2012

Cancellation Policy

  • If the cancellation is needed, the participant/paper presenter must inform the conference convener or member secretary at least one weeks before the conference and accordingly he will get his fees refunded. There will be no refund on cancellations received after the stipulated time.

Presentation Information:

  • The presentation will take place at IUBAT campus, 4 Embankment Drive Road, Sector 10, Uttara Model Town, Dhaka-1230, Bangladesh. Details of presentation rooms will be e-mailed to the registered delegates.

Session Timing

  • Delegates will have 25 minutes for their presentation, followed by ten minutes Question and Answer (Q & A) session. The session Chair will be responsible for time management and delegates will be notified how much time they will get for the presentation.

Conference Theme:

Quality of Higher Education

  • Quality is the journey from a starting point, considering all aspects of learning and the students-experiences. Outcomes are the destination- what the students have gained, achieved and demonstrated when they reach the destination.
    Although there is no internationally recognized definition of academic standards and quality in higher education, nevertheless academic standards describe the level of achievement that a student has to reach to gain an academic award (for example, a degree). Academic quality describes how well the learning opportunities available to students help them to achieve their award. It is about making sure that appropriate and effective teaching, support, assessment and learning opportunities are provided.
    Hence, quality in higher education is only the option through which we can achieve global uniformity for a standard and sustainable living in the context of double the population globally within less than a century against utilization of global resource increased more than million times during correspond period.
    Therefore, under the main theme as stated above, papers have been invited in the following fields of research:
    a) Concepts Issues of Quality of Higher Education
    b) Present Scenario of Quality of Higher Education

Submission of Papers:

  • Full papers written in English/Arabic and not submitted or published elsewhere, should be submitted in PDF format through the website. A full paper should not exceed 12 double-spaced (11 points) sizeA4 size pages including figures, tables, references etc. The paper should contain the followings:

    1. Title of the paper
    2. Name(s) of author(s), affiliation and full address with e-mail address.
    3. Abstract clearly stating the achievement of the work
    4. 5 - 6 keywords
    5. Major area of the paper
    6. Sufficient literature review and objectives of the work
    7. Outcome and conclusion of the paper

    Paper submission instructions are available at Website: www.iubat.edu
    Authors of accepted papers are expected to provide a camera-ready copy. The guideline for the camera-ready paper will be available in the web at www.iubat.edu.
    Author(s) are expected to strictly follow the guidelines; otherwise the paper may not be published in the proceedings. Upon acceptance, the author (or in case of a jointly-authored paper, one of the authors) will be required to register and present the paper. Papers will be published in the conference proceedings only if at least one of the authors is registered.

Presentation Room Equipment

  • The presentation room will be equipped with a projector and a laptop computer. Please bring your presentation on a USB Pen-drive. Delegates are requested to arrive at the venue on time so that their presentation can be uploaded in the laptop computer.

Conference Registration

  • The conference will be patronized by IUBAT—International University of Business Agriculture and Technology. The registration fee must be paid by 10th January, 2012. Please contact us in advance in case of late payment.

    Registration fee includes conference materials, lunch, dinner, and refreshment during the conference. The participants will be provided with a registration card if they show the letter of acceptance / receipt of payment at the registration desk. A certificate will be awarded to the paper presenter during the conference.
    The participants from overseas can pay their registration fee after arrival, that is, on the day of conference at the registration desk. But they have to confirm their participation through a-mail. Local paper presenters and participants are requested to pay their registration fees by Pay Order/Cash.
