Proceeding of the Inaugural and Alumni Day Program-2008
Held on May 5, 2008 at 4:30 pm
The IUBAT Alumni Association (IAA), IUBAT—International University of Business Agriculture and Technology organized the Alumni Day 2008 on Monday, May 5, 2008 at 4:30 pm. The Day witnessed the formal inauguration of IAA. The successful program included the following activities:
1. Invitation Dissemination:
Prior to the program, all alumni member of IUBAT were invited through phone, email, fax and mail. Many dignitaries like Prof Dr M. Anwarul Azim, Vice-Chancellor, Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology, Professor Dr. Mosharraf Hossain, Vice-Chancellor, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mr Sarwar Ahmed, Managing Director, Syngenta Bangladesh Ltd, Mr Syed Abu Naser Bukhtear Ahmed, Managing Director & CEO, Agrani Bank, Head Office were. Prof Dr Mosharraf Hossain Miah and Mr Sarwar Ahmed accepted the invitation and graced the ceremony as Chief Guest and Special of the ceremony respectively.
2. Media Coverage:
The program was disseminated through news media. All alumni were also invited through this news media. The English and Bengali news were published in the Prothom Alon on Saturday, May 3, 2008 and in the Daily Star on Sunday, May 4, 2008. This received good response from the alumni. After the program a news release was served to all news media covering Bengali and English newspaper, TVs and Radios. Channel I was the Media Partner of the program and telecasted the program for more than 3 minutes as news item at 10:30 pm. Thus the program had good media coverage.
3. Inauguration of IUBATAA
The main program started through recitation from the Holy Qur’an by IUBAT BBA student Shah Md Rijvi. The national anthem of Bangladesh was led by Abu Horaira, Aditto, Nafis and Rasel, student of IUBAT.
Mr Mitul Mahmud Khan, Convener of Executive Committee of IUBAT Alumni Association delivered a well received speech.
Prof Dr M Alimullah Miyan, Vice-Chancellor and Founder of IUBAT was the Guest of Honour in the ceremony. Dr Miyan emphasized the importance of joint efforts as a vehicle for knowledge generation and dissemination. He urged everyone to work on to supplement the human resources development mission of IUBAT. He called upon the alumni to work hard for their own success and to fulfill the IUBAT mission to benefit the entire society.
Mr Sarwar Ahmed, Managing Director, Syngenta Bangladesh Ltd was the Special Guests.
Finally Professor Mosharraf Hossain Mian, Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh Agriculture University, Mymensingh formally declared Inauguration of the IAA. He said that associations of educated youths in a society like Bangladesh has significant role in rejuvenating cultural and socioeconomic developmental factors. It helps perpetuate the tradition and sublime heritage of a society, influence quality education, modernization process, globalization of social culture, socialization, poverty alleviation, disparity reduction, capacity building and finally service to the humanity through bringing relevance of education by joint efforts and urged the alumni who have culminated the crest of education to perform their joint responsibilities to benefit the society through intertwined young minds, hearts, efforts, loves, spirits, knowledge, abilities and skills as well leadership skills which is a crying need of Bangladesh to overcome increasing contemporary dilemmas.
Ms Arifatur Rahman offered vote of thanks in the program. Many of the alumni share there view and ideas in the open floor discussion sessions.
4. Participations
Around 150 individuals attended the program including 50 alumni, faculty and concerned officials attend the program.
5. Attendance Registration
The program had attendance registration for Alumni and 47 alumni registered their name in the attendance registration.
6. Business Meeting
After the light refreshment, a business meeting took place after the formal inauguration. All alumni, Vice-Chancellor of IUBAT were present in the meeting.

Out of the business meeting a Board of Managers for IUBATAA has been formed for two years (2008-10) through constitution of the following 6 committees:

8. Cultural Program
A flamboyant cultural program after the business meeting took place. Horaira, Moon, Bimala, Nafis, Rasel, Rahat and Prof Amanullah performed dances and sung in the program.
9. Dinner Party
A dinner party took place after the cultural program. Dinner for 170 participants was organized and around 150 participants attended the dinner party. All the attendees were served with delicious food items.
The program ended at around 9:30 pm.
