What is Information
Technology or more popularly,
IT?
IT is the combination of
all activities relating to collecting, processing, storing, using, and
transmitting data and information through the use of computers and communication
networks.The application of IT is anywhere where there is an information
source, needs for information, and/ or an information sink.
Bangladesh lacks a haven
for current and future
IT
professionals and, many societies and
club emerged to protect the IT
professionals and maintain the level
of IT know how required to compete in this aggressive global market.
However, certain inexpedient factors have proved all but few fallible.
Those few needs as much support as possible from each other and formation
of newer clubs and societies.
IUBAT— International University of Business Agriculture and Technology student have come to realize the fact that Bangladesh needs more sanctuaries for its current and future IT professionals. It was during mid 1997, when some of the students wanted to do something relating to the Information Technology and instant interest of Prof. Kazi Zahidul Haque, faculty of IUBAT, supported the cause. After lots of discussion and meeting among the students IUBAT IT Society formed its first committee consist of 12 members from the CBA and CEAT equally.
Now a days no one can survive without the Information. Any good manager
should have the capability to seek and gather information for his betterment
and as well as for his company - that means he should be skilled enough
to handle the communication networks and understand the Information Technology.
As far as the global economy is concerned, it and Information Technology
are coming closer to each other by the day, and it won't be wrong to say
that both are coming closer to interdependency.For a novice the term IT
can be said that IT is the Junction point between business and technology.
Thus it is clear that IT is a must for everyone for the upcoming
century, that could called the century of Information Technology.
Computer and IT
20th century has given birth to the Information era as a
logical sequence of the technology era. Computer technology has enhanced
information processing or communicating functions drastically. However,
the technology portion of IT does not refers to computers only,
IT
includes any scientific method applied in order to attain a higher and
more accurate information processing, gathering, and communicating ability.

What is IT Society
IT Society is the place where the student or the people can nourish
their ability to cope with the Information Technology and getting up to
date by acquiring the latest IT world news and views.
Mission Statement
² Provide
such a sanctuary for the current and future IT professionals that
professionals from all walks of IT world may come together to hone
their IT skills, stay up-to-date with latest breaking and news and
views.²
Objectives
To create a general awareness of IT amongst people
To provide supplementary training on IT related issues
To spread the latest IT news and views through seminars and symposiums.
T o encourage the style of thinking, and behavior that is expected of IT
professionals
Membership to this society is open to all. Membership fees are as follows:

Members are entitled to attend any courses offered by IUBAT IT
Society at a reduced price. Members can attend any seminar and symposium
organized by society. All members are entitled to a free subscription of
IT
journal. We are working on ways and means to provide further facilities
