Harrison, Professor of Management of
Manchester University,
England and Visiting

Professor
to International University of Business Agriculture and
Technology (IUBAT) spoke to a composite audience of
students, faculty and invited management professionals on
management of change in organizations at IUBAT Seminar Hall
Room on November 9, 2005. During his hour-long deliberation,
Prof Harrison made a very poignant exposition of Change in
Organizations with application of dynamic priority
principle. He stressed on a framework for implementing
change which takes into account the dynamics of management.

Management
of change model envisages communication, research,
assessment of feedback and thinking in perspective to
appraise the effectiveness of change, Dr Peter substantiated
with the pareto method i.e. maximum effect with minimum
labour. He quoted Juran, “If we fail to plan then we plan to
fail, etc”.

A lively
question-answer session followed Dr Peter’s seminar talk.
Both students and faculty were grossly involved in the theme
of the seminar. Prof Dr M Alimullah Miyan, Vice Chancellor
and Founder of IUBAT presided over the seminar. Earlier,
Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Mahmuda Khanum shared with Dr Peter
a few points of psychology in management of change.

In his
concluding remarks the Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Miyan gave an
account of real life situations of Management of Change in
Organizations. He underscored the need for testing
hypotheses before effecting stipulated changes based on
study and observation. The president of the seminar
profusely thanked the Seminar Leader Dr Peter for presenting
a compressed pack of dynamic education in his seminar talk.

The master
of the ceremony Tanvir Hossain, student of BATHM conducted
the program. Earlier, Prof Probir Mondol, Faculty and
Coordinator, College of Business Administration introduced
Dr Peter and Resmila Lamin, welcomed him with a bouquet. The
seminar was rounded off with a cup of tea at the Panoramic
Cafeteria of IUBAT.
