Seminar held at IUBAT
A seminar on "Challenges facing US Trade Policy with respect to Developing Countries" was held at IUBAT - international University of Business Agriculture and Technology on Tuesday, says a press release.
The seminar was led by Dr. Raj Bhala. Associate Dean and Professor of Law of the Gourge Washington University (GWU), USA who is now visiting IUBAT.
A lively discussion followed the presentation of Prof Bhala. A number of issues affecting Bangladesh were highlighted. The BGMEA representative raised several critical aspects of RMG sector in terms of US market and pointed to negative consequences on domestic income and employment, particularly that of women.
IUBAT VC Prof Dr M Alimullah Miyan in his concluding remarks emphasised the need for creating awareness about the potential and problems of globalisation to protect the interest of common men in Bangladesh.
