DEGREE AGREEMENT BETWEEN PURDUE UNIVERSITY AND IUBAT

Under the provision of an Articulation Agreement with Purdue University, USA, on successful completion of the requisite number of credit hours  (64) from IUBAT a student may move on to Purdue University and complete his/her BSEE degree from there.  The degree will be Purdue University Degree.  To become eligible for such transfer, the intending student has to complete at Purdue University a minimum of  66 credit hours from the courses prescribed by Purdue University.  Information on the general requirements for admission and other aspects are given below.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS OF IPFW FOR IUBAT TRANSFER STUDENTS

A student  must achieve a TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score of 550 or above, or a grade of Pass in English at the Ordinary Level of G.C.E. (General Certificate of Education), or pass the Michigan Examination administered at IPFW.

A student  must furnish a proof of financial support of required yearly expenses covering all types of expenses.

The intending student should note that there is no residence hall accommodation available at the Fort Wayne campus. S/he must make own housing arrangements in the community. However, the Office of International Services should help a student to find an apartment and a room mate on arrival at IPFW. There is a beautiful apartment complex ("Canterbury Green") adjacent to IPFW campus where most of the students stay. On the other side of Canterbury Green are restaurants and grocery stores for convenience. Married students should figure on higher costs.

A student from IUBAT must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 (on a scale of 4.0) or better in order to be considered for transfer to IPFW. IUBAT courses accepted for transfer to Indiana University-Purdue University, Fort Wayne (IPFW) for a baccalaureate degree in engineering must have a grade of "B" or above. "C" or below grades are not considered for transfer. Also, students must achieve a "C" or better grade point average of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) during their first semester at IPFW to get the completed IUBAT courses transferred officially to IPFW.

An IUBAT student must complete the minimum  66 credit hours at IPFW, in addition to any non-credit English courses needed to make up the student's deficiency in composition and reading.  While at IPFW, the student will pay IPFW fees and follow the rules and regulations of IPFW.

They are also responsible for satisfying the entry visa requirements of the pertinent U.S.A. embassy. IPFW will consider only those applications who are recommended by a IUBAT official.
